Chalet des Avattes, at an altitude of 1450 m, is open all year round. It overlooks Sainte-Croix and lies halfway up the slope towards the Chasseron summit.
Restaurant les Avattes is located on one of the most beautiful terraces in the region. From the balcony, the view over the plain is wide open to the horizon, facing Mont Blanc, the Alps and even the entrance to the Valais.
Originally located on the Avattes chairlift, which ceased to exist in 1991, this building has been a restaurant since its foundation. In winter, it sits in the middle of the ski slopes of the Les Rasses ski area.
On the menu: Mountain dishes such as fondues (wine, cider and beer) and croûtes, as well as a variety of salads and roast beef. All products are locally sourced from Sainte-Croix.
Specialities: Le délice des Avattes, baked camembert with honey, rosemary and walnuts.
Cook's tip: "La fondue au cidre" (cider fondue), a childhood dish of the owners. This recipe is lighter and easier to digest.
