Lake Chavonnes is also a fabled spot which has inspired numerous myths. Legend has it that Dame Isabeau, daughter of a Lord, sought refuge here whilst fleeing a barbarian invasion. She is said to have thrown her jewellery chest into the lake for safekeeping.
