Located in the area under the station, the Café de Grancy serves, in an art-deco atmosphere, a tasty, locavore brasserie cuisine that allows itself a few creative, exotically inspired dishes.
That little extra from the food insider "Guidegastronomique.ch": When the weather is fair, book one of the tables on top of the metro line, with a view over the lake.
Favourite dish: The trio of tartare
At the Boulevard de Grancy, under the train station, come and discover this café that offers contemporary bistro cooking, with a touch of creativity. Don’t miss the weekend brunches! This establishment has been awarded the “ Café historique de Lausanne ” label established by the city of Lausanne in 2021. Set in a beautiful building built at the end of the 19th century in close proximity to the train station and the “Ficelle”, the Café de Grancy welcomes a variety of customers nowadays. The building was transformed in the mid 1980s, but the two fluted columns still stand as witnesses to a certain monumentality of this former brasserie.
