Founded in 1893, Lausanne Hotel School (EHL) is the first and oldest hotel management establishment in the world. It is the most widely recognised school of its kind at international level.
EHL (Lausanne Hotel School) is located above Lausanne, on the outskirts of the city. Since its creation in 1893, EHL has trained more than 25,000 senior managers in the hospitality industry. Close to 3,700 students representing more than 120 nationalities are now following its courses. Courses are taught in English and in French at the EHL, which works in partnership with the hospitality industry both in Switzerland and abroad. This model allows employers to become involved in the processes of recruiting students for work placements and future employment, and to quickly identify those who meet their requirements, mentor them and supervise their training. Long-term links are thus forged between the profession and the EHL, as are privileged relationships between employers and students who are then able to chart their own careers. Renowned for its management training, half the students choose to work in another field at the end of their training. In 2019, it is ranked as the best hotel management university in the world by QS World University Ranking and Ceoworld Magazine. Several personalities have studied at EHL, such as Samy Vischel, CEO of Fauchon Paris, Daria Quintini, Global Brand Executive for Belmond LVMH, as well as Tina Wang, Apple’s head of buzz marketing.
