Just down the road from Nyon, Changins is a national viticulture skills centre. It incorporates three schools: the HES-SO for viticulture and oenology, the ES for viticulture technicians, and finally the school of wine which provides courses open to the public and for corporate seminars.
Established in 1948, Changins is a higher national training centre for oenology, viticulture and arboriculture. A modern fully-equipped building, as well as a teaching vineyard of 6,000 m2 and an experimental cellar, trains the Swiss wine producers and oenologists of tomorrow. With its students, Changins produces nine different wines every year, of which some regularly win awards.
Since 1999, the school of wine has offered courses to the members of the public eager to explore the fundamentals of oenology, the differences between cepages and terroirs, as well as tasting techniques – not only for wine but also chocolate, coffee, whisky, olive oil, etc. These workshops are highly suitable for corporate outings, incentive trips and team-building. Changins is available to companies wishing to organise personalised courses combined with a full visit of the site, conferences in the many available rooms, aperitifs or a meal.
