Situated on the hills overlooking the city, the museum is housed in a beautiful 19th century manor, set in its own grounds with a view over the old city, Lake Geneva and the Alps.With two to three exhibitions a year presenting works of an international scale, impressionist painters and sculptors like Degas and Gauguin are often featured at the Hermitage. On a more intimate scale, there is an extensive permanent collection of Chinese porcelain in the basement of the museum.For an all-round enjoyable experience, the Fondation de l’Hermitage regularly organises cultural and gourmet events in the restaurant adjacent to the museum.
