Cully, Lavaux with music
Nestled in the UNESCO-listed Lavaux vineyard terraces, on the shores of Lake Geneva, Cully is a charming vineyard village.
The village of Cully is one of the jewels of Lake Geneva and the Lavaux wine region. These vineyard terraces dating back to the 12th century illustrate a unique interaction between man and nature, earning the site its listing as a UNESCO heritage site in 2007.
A popular wine tourism destination, Cully is connected to major towns by road, rail or boat. The modern or Belle Epoque ships of the CGN (Compagnie Générale de Navigation) stop off at the Cully landing station, offering passengers a spectacular view of the vineyard. From here, visitors can take the vineyard pathways or the Lavaux Express, the little tourist train on wheels, into the heart of vine-growing country and the vineyard way of life.
In April, between vine pruning and leaf pulling, Cully opens its cellars for 9 days during the Cully Jazz Festival, a unique event in Switzerland while, in June, the Cully Classique music festival takes centre stage.
