Sled dogs

A ride with sled dogs is an original winter activity and offers an authentic and timeless journey in a Nordic atmosphere. The snowy landscapes and the vast spaces of the canton of Vaud lend themselves perfectly to these rides in synch with the animals and their musher.

Sleds pulled by dogs originated in the North and have gradually been introduced in Switzerland in winter, much to the delight of fans of excursions in harmony with nature. The energetic and endearing dog teams - the cute Huskies among them - love this instinctive activity conducted by a musher. The conductor of the dog team has his/her dogs obey to finger and eye movements thanks to great mutual respect.

To share this passion and try out an original adventure, more and more fans join the mushers on the sleds. In the Vaud Alps professionals offer various types of outings as well as a whole range of activities (snow hiking with dogs, introductory courses to conducting sled dogs). Regardless of the region, a sled dog outing must be organised in advance and depends on the weather conditions.
