Have you put on your mittens and helmet – safety first – as well as a thick scarf? Are your skates all laced up? Then you’re ready to gather souvenirs of lovely ski outings with the family or friends. Whether they are open all year round or as soon as it gets cold, many outdoor rinks are ready to welcome you throughout the canton.
From Saint-Cergue and Château-d'Oex to Caux, Les Diablerets and Gryon, most of the Vaudois mountain villages have open-air skating rinks, which are sometimes even completely natural, where you can practice your favourite sport. The towns and shores of Lake Geneva offer similar possibilities. Lausanne and Yverdon-les-Bains have great ice rinks, while Coppet and Perroy compete for the best ice rink in the lakeside region called La Côte.
