10th edition - Christmas markets are livening up Lausanne from November 20 to December 31, 2024. In a festive and friendly atmosphere, buy your gifts, savour local gastronomy products and discover the wines and specialities from the area. And don’t forget the major events with, among others, the Opening Parade, Ferris Wheel, Igloo du Terroir Vaudois and Village des enfants.
New to this 10th anniversary edition: - Bô Noël is leaving Place du Château and heading down to the south of the city and the train station neighbourhood. Plateforme 10 will now become one of the new beating hearts of the Christmas Market with the Ferris wheel, a 20-metre-long sledge run and the Terroir Vaudois igloo. This is also where the New Year’s Eve Silent Disco will dance the night away. - The new Marché des artisans.es (Artisans’ Market) will move to Rue de Bourg and Rue du Lion d’Or. - The Grand Marché de Saint-François (Main Saint-François Market) will welcome - for the first time in Lausanne - a “Christmas Tower”, a traditional attraction in Scandinavian countries. - A 10-metre-long curling rink will be set up on the Cathedral Esplanade. - The iconic bar Le Labô will leave Place Pépinet to join the Belvédère du Mondial de Fondue on Place Bel-Air. - Finally, from November 23 to December 28, Bô Noël will take over Rue Centrale every Saturday from 5 pm to 8 pm, with the street pedestrian at those times. You can look forward to candlelight illuminations, street performances, the Christmas Run and the Christmas Parade. The classics: For the Bô Noël classics, head to Place des Pionnières to discover the Boutique des Créateur·trices (Creators’ Boutique) or to indulge in the pleasures of good food at the Marché des Papilles (Taste-Buds Market). The Coeurnotzet once more sets up its quarters under the arches of the Grand Pont with a new atmosphere. Like every year, the Village des Enfants (Children’s Village) will settle on the Cathedral Esplanade and the pop-up hotel accommodation DUPLEX ROOM will offer you once more the opportunity to spend an unforgettable night in the gardens of the Lausanne History Museum. As for the Christmas Parade, it will start on Saturday, November 30 at 6 pm at the Cathedral to end at Plateforme 10.Also, during the Bô Noël period, two tourist trains providing a continuous service between the Cité and Plateforme 10 will enable visitors to make the rounds of the 7 markets easily. Finally, don’t forget to meet up with your friends in the Bô Noël pop-up restaurants and bars for Lausanne-style social evenings!
