2 days of polar magic and it’s showtime at Col des Mosses during one of the oldest established races in Switzerland.
Around 70 teams coming from all over Europe gather each year on the Les Mosses-La Lécherette plateau for this international dog sled race.
Combining sprint and skijoring, there are numerous different races to watch over the course of the weekend while mushers and their teams of dogs stride out across the splendid landscape of Les Mosses-La Lécherette.
For spectators there is something of the North Pole in the air. The dogs are in their element, eager to run at full pelt to try to win the race. Crowds along the racetrack encourage them with cheers and applause as the loud barking heralds their arrival.
And to get right into the spirit of things, visitors can go on organised walks setting out from Arsat where all the competitions begin and end. After the excitement of a race, they can take a breather and warm up at the event’s special canteen where they’ll also get the chance to talk to the mushers.
