The Château de la Roche in Ollon hosts the "Fragments de nature" exhibition
From 13 to 19 September 2024, come to Château de la Roche in Ollon for the ‘Fragments de nature’ exhibition (Youri Gonard, Anne Béatrice Gonard, Silvana Cognigni, Valérie Caillet-Bois).
Four artists have come together in the same place, inspired by a wonderful encounter, a shared sensitivity to the elements and a desire to create. They decided to share with the public their unique vision of the beauty of plants and minerals: four distinct perspectives to capture fragments of nature, four singular approaches to reveal matter, contrasts and the play of light.
Youri Gonard, a cabinet-maker in Blonay for 30 years, creates unique furniture by combining restoration techniques and modern construction in a refined style. In his spare time, he likes to swap his wooden tools for paintbrushes to devote himself to painting.
Anne Béatrice Gonard, for her part, lets her hands shape and transform the material. In her studio, a serene atmosphere and a potter's wheel become a form of meditation and refuge for her. From clay, she creates everyday objects and sculptures that combine the roughness of stoneware with the softness of enamels.
Trained at the Buenos Aires School of Fine Arts, Silvana Cognigni swapped paintbrushes for clay after arriving in Switzerland. For her, ceramics has become a new world, a creative adventure in which each piece, imbued with spontaneous gestures, tells a story and conveys an emotion.
As for Valérie Caillet-Bois, her artistic expression is nourished by her attentive eye for the Chablais region where she grew up. She draws from it an infinite number of landscapes, whose form, though stable, subtly changes with the seasons.
