Hongrin Lake

Just above Col des Mosses the water has been tamed. Man’s ingenuity has enabled 9 different watercourses to come together at the Hongrin Dam. The massive construction is truly impressive, set against a dramatically unspoilt natural backdrop.

Located between Col des Mosses and La Lécherette the Hongrin Dam is an incredible feat of engineering. Thanks to its double arches of 95m and 123 m, the reservoir can hold a maximum 52 million cubic metres of water at a depth of 105m !

Hongrin Dam is an ideal destination for a family hike. After a strenuous hike traversing mountain pastures you’ll reach the ideal picnic spot.

For fishermen, the idyllic setting allows you to naturally recharge your batteries whilst teasing a fish. Apart from the gentle sound of cow bells in the background, nothing breaches this perfect calm.
