This listing has put the famous terraced vineyard, a recognized cultural landscape, into the limelight.
The terraced vineyard of Lavaux has been listed as UNESCO world heritage since 28 June 2007, propelling this region to a place in the forefront of the touristic scene and attracting the interest of visitors from all over the world. Several events are organized on the occasion of this anniversary. The first, a naval parade, takes place in Cully on 21 May. There on the lake of Geneva, right in the middle of the Lavaux region, a fleet of Belle Epoque boats of the CGN company will be on show, the most prestigious of their kind in the world.
The highlight of the festivities is planned for the weekend of 9 and 10 September with "Lavaux Passion". On the occasion of this popular event, some 40 winegrowers will present their products which can be tasted on site or during one of the seven cruises, an opportunity to enjoy the panoramic views from the lake. In 2018, a landscape interpretation center will open its doors. A first temporary exhibition of photographs will be shown until 11 August, the permanent exhibition will be open as of spring 2018.
