Meadowland, fissured mountains, magnificent views and Alpine pastures with refreshments available: this very varied hike circles the Arête de L’Argentine mountain chain. The tour starts and ends in Solalex on the banks of the Avançon: a popular spot with families, nature-lovers and climbers.

Practical information

Signalization: Starting from Solalex, follow the following official yellow signposts: Anzeinde – Col des Essets – La Vare – La Motte – Roc du Châtelet – Solalex.

Consideration: Do not approach the sheep and ignore their guard dogs.

Surface/foundation: Difficult and slippery passage (equipped with chains) under Roc du Châtelet, to be passed with caution.

Hint: Didactic brochures «Sentier de la pierre» (Stone trail) are available from the Villars, Gryon and Bex tourist offices.
