Favourite dish: The lobster risotto
Many restaurants do French gastronomy in the canton of Vaud, yet few in as authentic a manner as the Chat Noir in Lausanne. The decor enhances the well-presented dishes, with15 points in the GaultMillau.This establishment has been awarded the “ Café historique de Lausanne ” label established by the city of Lausanne in 2021. At the corner of the Rue Beau-Séjour and the Rue Charles-Monnard, le Chat Noir is a companion to le Lyrique. The 1950s and 1960s still haunt the premises, as a postcard of the raised space bears witness. This venue originated at the end of the 19th century as the restaurant exists since 1897 at least.
