What could be better at the end of a long day spent gliding down the slopes of the Vaudois Alps than reclining on the terrace of a snow bar, sipping the traditional mulled wine or some other reviving drink? But first, a good meal savoured in the shelter of a mountain restaurant, to re-energise the winter sportsman or woman. Whether beginner or expert, no skier would miss the pleasure of an après-ski bathed in sunlight, in a lively musical atmosphere.
The high-altitude refuges and bars scattered between Leysin, Le Col des Mosses, Villars-Gryon, Les Diablerets, Château-d’Oex, Rougemont, Rossinière, Les Rochers-de-Naye, Les Pléaides, la Vallée de Joux, Ste-Croix/Les Rasses and St-Cergue/La Dôle offer local and seasonal specialities, for every taste and every pocket.
Most of the establishments on the slopes offer comfortable chaise-longues to skiers in search of rest. Some restaurants are accessible by ski lift so occasional skiers do not have to take all their snow equipment with them. At the day’s end, the festive ambience in the après-ski bars extends into the evening.
